Why marine grade polymer

Made for pools, lakes and the coast

Marine Grade Polymer (MGP) is engineered for the toughest environments, so it keeps looking and performing like new season after season.

Completely waterproof

MGP won't absorb fresh or salt water, so it performs in coastal, lakeside and poolside settings.

Won't rack, rot or separate

Unlike traditional extruded resin, MGP keeps its structural integrity in any climate.

Color all the way through

Solid color runs through the material, so it resists chips, fading and surface wear.

Resists mold and mildew

A smooth, refined surface naturally resists moisture and helps prevent mold and mildew. Clean-up is simple.

Hidden hardware

MGP pieces are engineered with hidden hardware for a seamless, built-in look, secured with corrosion-resistant stainless steel.

Made in USA since 1903

Handcrafted by Telescope Casual in Granville, New York, and backed by a 15-year residential warranty.

MGP questions

Frequently asked questions

What is marine grade polymer?

Marine Grade Polymer (MGP) is a solid polymer engineered for the toughest outdoor environments. It won't absorb water, won't rack, rot or separate, and its color runs all the way through the material.

Is MGP good near the ocean or a pool?

Yes. MGP is completely impervious to water and won't absorb fresh or salt water, so it performs in coastal and marine settings and around pools. Telescope's Dune Hydro-Lounge chaise is even designed for shallow in-pool placement.

How is MGP different from regular resin furniture?

Unlike traditional extruded resin, MGP does not rack, rot or separate, and its smooth, refined surface has a cleaner finished look than extruded boards.

Will it fade or chip?

MGP's solid color runs all the way through, which helps it resist chips, fading and surface wear so it looks new year after year.

How do I clean MGP furniture?

MGP's smooth surface naturally resists moisture and helps prevent mold and mildew. Only routine cleaning with common detergents is needed. Avoid teak oil and other products that can stain the finish, keep it away from heat sources over 180°F, and go gently with nylon scrub pads.

What warranty comes with MGP furniture?

Telescope Casual MGP furniture is backed by a 15-year residential warranty (3 years for commercial use).

How long does delivery take?

Telescope Casual MGP furniture is made to order in Granville, New York, in the colors you choose. Build time is typically 3 to 5 weeks, and we'll keep you updated from your order through delivery.

Is shipping free, and do you price match?

Shipping is free on every order, with no minimum, and we offer a price match guarantee as an authorized Telescope Casual dealer.

Furnishing a coastal home, dock or pool deck?

Tell us about your space. A real person will help you choose the right MGP collection and colors, and send free sling samples.
