Frequently asked questions

Which size Homecrest umbrella do I need?

The 6.5' square suits bistro and café tables up to 36 inches. The 7.5' octagon fits tables 36 to 42 inches across, and the 9' octagon fits dining tables 48 to 54 inches. For a sofa or sectional, the Sol cantilever comes in 11' and 13'. Triumph giant umbrellas shade a pool deck or a long table.

Crank lift with auto tilt, or pulley lift?

The crank lift opens the canopy and, if you keep turning, tilts it toward the sun. Homecrest builds and warrants it for commercial use. The pulley lift opens with a woven cord, with no tilt, and costs less.

Which base do I need?

Through a table, a market umbrella takes the aluminum shell base (fill it with sand) or the 45 lb cast iron base. Standing on its own, it needs the 100 lb premium aluminum base with wheels. Sol and Triumph umbrellas have their own heavier bases and mounts. Each umbrella page lists the bases made for it.

Will it fit my Homecrest table?

Yes. Homecrest market umbrellas fit any Homecrest table ordered with an umbrella hole. Triumph giant umbrellas are freestanding and are not for use through a table.

Can the canopy match my cushions?

Often, yes. Homecrest offers more than 200 Sunbrella and Outdura umbrella fabrics, and many are the same fabrics as Homecrest cushions. We send free fabric samples so you can see them together.

How long does it take?

Every Homecrest umbrella is made to order in Wadena, Minnesota, and ships in about 2 to 5 weeks.
