Built in Wadena. Lived in everywhere.
In 1953 Mert Bottemiller and Al Engelmann started Homecrest in the back of a Wadena, Minnesota furniture store, building a better hassock. In 1956 they filed the patent for a swivel rocker mechanism, and an American patio tradition began. Seventy years on, every frame, sling and cushion is still made in the same town.

Frequently asked questions
Where is Homecrest furniture made?
In Wadena, Minnesota, where Homecrest was founded in 1953. Frames are welded and powder coated, slings and cushions sewn and Natural Series tops poured by hand in the Homecrest factory.
Did Homecrest really invent the swivel rocker?
Co-founders Mert Bottemiller and Al Engelmann filed the patent for their swivel rocker mechanism in 1956 (US 2,916,084, granted 1959), and it became the foundation of the Homecrest outdoor line. Swivel rockers are still among the most loved pieces in every Homecrest collection.
What is Homecrest Air seating?
Air pieces look like deep-seating lounge chairs but have no cushions: Sensation sling fabric is stretched over an aluminum frame. There is nothing to store or dry out after rain, and the sling holds its shape.
Cushion, sling or padded sling: which should I choose?
Cushion seating is the softest, with plush DreamCore or firmer UltraCore cushions. Sling is cool, breathable and quick to dry; padded sling adds a soft layer in cushion fabric. Air gives a cushion-like look with sling-style care.
How long does a Homecrest order take?
Homecrest builds to order in the finish and fabric you choose, and orders ship in 2 to 5 weeks.
