Telescope Tabletops Compared: Slat, Cascade, Dash, Origins and Rustic Polymer
Telescope Casual builds its dining, balcony and bar tables the same way underneath: a lightweight, powder-coated aluminum base that will not rust, finished to match your Telescope chairs. What changes is the top, and there are five to choose from. Here is how they compare.
The four Marine Grade Polymer tops
Slat, Cascade, Dash and Rustic Polymer are all made from Marine Grade Polymer (MGP), the same solid material used on boats. It will not absorb water, rot or crack apart, and the color runs all the way through, so scratches do not reveal a different color underneath.
- Slat: classic MGP slats with gaps between them, so rain drains away. The most versatile, timeless choice.
- Cascade: a textured surface with a hand-made metal look, on a variety of base styles.
- Dash: a crisp, modern pattern that pairs with sling and cushion seating alike.
- Rustic Polymer: the look of wood slats in a range of colors, with no sealing, staining or splinters.

Origins: solid-surface acrylic
Origins tops are a non-porous, solid-surface acrylic that resists heat and stains, with the color consistent through the entire material. If your table doubles as a serving station, Origins is worth a look.
