Heat areas are Bromic's published figures. Real-world comfort depends on wind, mounting height, enclosure and outdoor temperature. Not sure? Send us your dimensions and we'll recommend a setup.
Tungsten or Platinum?
Both are Bromic Smart-Heat radiant heaters: they warm people rather than the air, tilt 60° on the included brackets, mount on a wall or ceiling or recess into one, and work with Bromic dimmer and smart controls. The difference is the look, the clearance you need and the price.
More heat for the moneyTungsten
- Stainless steel with a black mesh front that spreads heat evenly
- Electric from 2,000 to 6,000 W, heating up to 160 sq ft
- The lower price per watt of the two
- 4000W and 6000W come in black or white
- Gas version puts out up to 43,000 BTU
Slimmest, most refinedPlatinum
- Black glass front hides the elements and cuts glare
- Only 7 in. deep and 10 in. wide (Tungsten: 8.5 x 13 in.)
- Needs just 8 in. to the ceiling vs 13 in. for Tungsten, ideal for low or tight spaces
- IPX5 weather rated, plus a 316 stainless Marine version
- Gas version stays lit in winds up to 13 mph (Tungsten gas: 8 mph)
Heat that disappears into the design
Platinum is built for spaces where looks matter as much as warmth.
Ultra-thin glass front
A slim profile with a black glass panel that blends into ceilings and walls and keeps visible glow low.
IPX5 weather resistant
Platinum electric heaters are weather resistant (IPX5 rated) and wind resistant.
Mount it three ways
Wall, ceiling or recessed flush into the ceiling, with brackets that tilt 60 degrees to aim the heat.
Stays lit in the wind
Platinum gas heaters are rated to stay lit in winds up to 13 mph, with one-touch electronic ignition.
Control up to 4 heaters
Pair Platinum gas heaters with Bromic Affinity smart controllers to run up to four heaters together.
Marine-grade option
Platinum Marine uses AISI 316 stainless steel and a fully enclosed body for coastal and waterfront homes.
Frequently asked questions
What size heater do I need?
Multiply your space's length by its width and compare that with each heater's heat area in the sizing guide. For example, a 12 × 12 ft patio is 144 sq ft: one heater rated for about 145 sq ft or more, or two smaller heaters for more even warmth. Wind, mounting height and temperature all affect comfort, so larger or breezy spaces usually need more than one heater.
What's the difference between Platinum and Tungsten?
Both deliver Bromic radiant heat. Platinum has an ultra-thin profile with a black glass front for a more built-in look, while Tungsten uses a mesh front and is often the more budget-friendly choice.
Do I need Platinum Marine?
If your heater will be near salt air, such as an oceanfront patio or dock, choose Platinum Marine. It is built from AISI 316 stainless steel with a fully enclosed body and a 5-year warranty for land-based applications.
Do electric Bromic heaters need an electrician?
Yes. Bromic electric heaters run on 220–240V power rather than a standard 120V outlet, so we recommend installation by a licensed electrician.
How high should the heater be mounted?
Many Bromic electric models list a minimum height of 96 inches from the ground for ceiling mounting and 72 inches for wall mounting. Clearances vary by model, so check the specifications on each product page before you install.
Where do I find Platinum recess kits, poles and replacement glass?
They're in this collection below the heaters, and in our Bromic accessories collection. Each part's title names the Platinum model it fits.
Is shipping free, and do you price match?
Shipping is free on every order, with no minimum, and we offer a price match guarantee as an authorized Bromic retailer.
Not sure which Platinum model fits?
Send us your space's dimensions and whether it's covered or open. We'll recommend the right Platinum heaters, mounts and controls.
